Oh, Hello 2020

Happy New Year! That seems to be the appropriate way to start this post, ha! Last year I started this blog because I wanted to get back to writing, and I did. For a very short span of time. This year I’m going to do my best to post consistently on here. (Even if I’m only talking to myself, is anyone out there? Lol)
How many of you like to start off the year with a word or a quote or some type of “mantra” for the new year? You know, something that is there to help guide your goals or set the tone for the year you are about to walk into. I’ll be honest, that hasn’t always been my kind of thing. Actually I believe its something I only started doing about 3 years ago and it was just because I felt like it was something that I needed to do.
For a while I didn’t think I’d have one this year because I just didn’t feel that tug in my spirit. Then, bam! Not only did I have a word, but I also had a scripture. At, first I thought “Wait! God that’s breaking the rules I’m only supposed to have one or the other. Do these even make sense together?” and then I heard him chuckle.
Lesson 1... just TRUST God, he knows what he’s doing.

So here they are, my word for 2020 is TRUST and my scripture is Ecclesiastes 3:11 “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
I believe this year God is going to teach me to trust him more. Sometimes it gets hard to keep going when you can’t seem to find the light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve questioned God about my etsy shop, “should I quit?, are you sure you want to use what I do?” I’ve questioned it because even though there was growth, I felt there should have been more. He gently reminded me, “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” and who am I to argue with that? Every time I have asked if I’m making a difference he finds a way to show me I am. As long as I remain faithful, and persevere in the purpose he’s given me, he will continue to use my work as a vessel to spread his joy and his love for people, for his beloved creation.
What is God wanting to do with you this year?
